普通型液压阀门测试机虽然属于YFC型系列中的普通种类，实际上该机器并不普通。该种设备总体来说造型独特且内部构造十分完整，具体来说它是由主机架、水平平移的夹紧工作盘、以及对应于各种阀门口径的密封盲板等多个不同部分共同组成。每个部分构造不同、作用不同，但是对于机器的整体运行却是起到重要作用，其中夹紧工作盘带有水平平移机构可以将被测试的阀门进行水平平移，底部和上部带有夹紧机构可以将被测试件夹紧。
YFC型液压阀门测试机中各种尺寸的法兰外径，可以实现自动定心定位；在上部和底部夹紧则会采用油缸实现夹紧；其中夹紧活塞杆则是需要通过热处理加工，而在夹紧过程中不会发生任何的变形现象。通过夹紧工作盘进行水平平移的方式，为阀门的装卸和密封试验的操作及观测提供了很大的方便。阀门法兰的夹紧对被测试阀门同样采用垂直夹紧的方式，因为这样在很大程度上可以保证测试结果的准确性。
